Comment: First off, my unequivocal apologies for taking so long to rate. Lots of excuses - harddrive dying, illness, motherhood, and life in general, blahblahblah. Sorry! Thanks for the really nice letter. One day I'll try to get out to Calgary, too. I hear Banff is nearby and nice to visit. Glad the hotel was nice. I always mean to go to fitness centers, as well, and have only been to one or two of them. Hope the wedding went well.

Comment: Thanks Lauralee! I am going to look up the story of the original Winnie! Do you can your beets in a water bath canner or a pressure canner? I used to have a pressure canner and LOVED it. Have a great summer!
Response: I'm so glad you liked it! I've actually never canned them before, but my grandma's beet recipe is to DIE for. It's a family favourite, and I'm hoping to carry on the tradition. :) I think I'm going to be using a waterbath, given that all I have are some mason jars and no equipment. LOL
