Hello.

The purpose of this swap is to exchange Capital City Postcard

Instructions for the swap:

  1. Send only Capital City Postcards from the country you are shipping from. It means, if you are from France, the card must feature Paris. A card similar like that one of the swap.

  2. The card can be naked and stamped or inside an envelop. Ask you swap partner for his / her preference about this.

  3. The deadline for signing up to the swap will be more than 3 weeks. Why so long this period? The purpose is to gather as many people as possible in order to have a variety of countries / sites increased.

  4. Ship out your card on time. If you have problems with this, just contact your swap partner. This is for kindness and politeness..

  5. No touchnotes or hand made

  6. Swap partners will be choosen randomly.

  7. No mininum grade required but profiles will be checked.

  8. If your country has two capital cities such as: Bolivia. Choose any one of them and explain your partner if it the administrative or political city of your country.

  9. If you have any question regarding to the swap, feel free to contact me.

  10. Invite other postcrossers to the swap so the chances of getting a particular card increases.

  11. Write sometime about the city more than just "Happy Post Crossing".

I too was wondering the same, also, being halfway across the United States it would be difficult to get a D.C. PC and the likelihood based on posted comments so far anyway is I would in turn get another D.C. PC. When I purchase PC's on vacation I am now buying at least 2-1 for my collection and 1 or more to swap.

I'm unclear about what constitutes a card that features your country's capital city. For example, I have a pc of Martin Luther King's "I have a Dream" speech that was in Washington D.C.; I also have a pc of the Eye of the Dome of the Rotunda in Washington D.C. Are those OK for this swap; or do you specifically want Washington D.C. buildings (the White House, The Mint, the FBI Bldg, etc.) and/or historical items (the Declaration of Independence, Bills of Rights, Constitution, etc.)?

Hello Gingelei... The card to be sent has to represent, in your case, Washington D.C: A monument, a square.. a park... The Potomac (in your case).. Something representative of your city so The eye of the dome of the rotunda will work perfectly...

Wow! I can't understand why there are so many questions! It's been explained! If your from america, send a postcard with something to do with DC! If you want to send a postcard from your capital, join the US capital postcard swap!

Another Aussie here, I live way down south in Tasmania and the capital of my state, is Hobart (my home city) - does this mean I must some how source a card from the NATIONAL capital (Canberra) or from my STATE capital (Hobart)? Cheers! Joining in regardless ;)

Joined... I have tons of DC postcards! The Capitol, Washington Monument, Smithsonian... You name it, I have it, so I obviously don't have any problem sending out one. Hopefully I will be paired up with a sender who is not from the US... Here's hoping!!! If I get paired up with a sender from within the US, I would totally give Five and a Heart for a State Capital card!
