We're going on another Scavenger Hunt this Autumn. Collect the following 10 items and send to your partner. Everything should fit in a flat envelope, however as this is a challenge and may take time to find, this is a Type 3 swap. Have fun collecting and use your imagination to find some fun items :-)

  1. Something Autumn
  2. Something Halloween
  3. Something Apples - this doesn't have to be a real apple. It could be a recipe, a Halloween game, use that imagination...
  4. Photo or picture of Autumn trees
  5. Wrapper from an Autumn food - make sure it's clean!
  6. Article from an Autumn newspaper or magazine
  7. Something orange
  8. A leaf - if sending a real leaf, wash and moisturise. This will prevent it drying out and crumbling on its travels
  9. A feather - can be drawn, photographed, paper cut
  10. A secret message

For anyone stuck on the secret message:

My first thought came from the post secret cards... You write a secret that you have never told anyone, kind of a confession . Postsecret.com for more info on this.

Secondly, we were thinking about secret love, when you have a secret crush, on a film star or the boy next door, so you send a secret message to declare your love, like a valentine. And this actually led to the creation of a Scavenger Hunt for Valentines day in February.

Then there's the brain of a child... My daughter is into being a spy when she grows up. To her, a secret message is a coded message. She knows loads of codes. One easy code is you write your message with a random word in between your words. She sent me this... "Best hamster mummy at in yellow the big whole massive wide blue world"... sounds like nonsense, but if you read every other word, it says "best mummy in the whole wide world"...

Another code is write out the alphabet like a list, then write it again in random order, so a=has, b=x etc, then write your message with the random alphabet (might be good to send the code to your partner!)
