This is for all those that are new to matchboxes but not to Swap-Bot. :)

For this swap you'll have 3 partners, to which you will send one matchbox a piece. So you will be sending a total of 3 matchboxes.

You will decorate the matchbox with a theme of your choice & fill it with items such as beads, charms, rhinestones, mini rubber stamps, or anything you think your partner will like that will fit.

Basic rules:

  1. This is an international swap.
  2. Sorry, but no unrated swappers. There's plenty of time to sign up, so join if you're going to be rated before the signup deadline. If you're not rated by that time, I'll have to remove you.
  3. Use the small size matchboxes. You can get them for about .50c for a set of 4 at Wal-Mart. Fine Print: THIS DOES NOT MEAN TO RATE A 3 BECAUSE THEY SENT A MATCHBOX THAT WAS SLIGHTLY BIGGER THAN YOUR'S. That's just petty, and in different countries, they're slightly different sizes.

This is a fun, easy swap. People who are matchbox vets can join, of course. But please be aware the majority will be new to decorating these.

You can use any size you like, as long as it's a matchbox. :) Whatever you're more comfortable with.

Maybe you should set a size of matchbox to use. I would hate to send out 3 big boxes and get three of the smaller ones back... because SO much more stuff fits in a big box! But... I am going to sign up anyway!

About the size, I agree with Garagebandfan. But..I would not like to send a small matchbox, the receiver expects a big one and I get a 3 as a rating :(

I would suggest 3 small ones as well... especially since this is aimed for people who dont have much match box experience... start small and work your way up!

This is perfect! I'm currently in my first matchbox swap ever, and I had so many different ideas for decorating the box but only one partner to send to. I live in Sweden though where the small size matchboxes are slightly larger than in the US, they hold about 48 matches instead of 32, is that alright?

I couldn't resist! :) I am new to matchbox decorating but quickly became hooked. The deadline is fairly close to my 'due date' (Yay, it's a girl!) but it will be a nice swap to end with before I take a break to have my baby.
