Description:

For this swap you will make a journal of your hobbies. Find a pretty journal (or decorate a plain covered one) and fill it will information and musings about what hobbies you do. The specifics :

  • A minimum of 20 pages
  • The first page must be a bit about you and a list of your hobbies

You can include lists, reviews, pictures etc. For example my hobbies include films, books, penpalling. I might write a review of the book I just finished, write a list of my all time favourite films and actors/acresses and use it to keep a log of letters I send and recieve and summarise what I receive.

Use any media you like, be as creative as you can. You will have 6 weeks to complete and mail out your journal. Please no flakers, journal swaps are pretty impossible to angel.

A couple of questions I got asked :

Are newbies allowed to join? Is there a min/max size to the journal?

Yes Newbies who are part of the group are welcome to join. The journal can be any size, I am not putting restrictions on this. Just make it something you would like to receive.

I got a question.....I have been working on this journal for weeks now, but the journal i boughed starts falling apart :S. The pages are letting loose and the elastic band around it snapped....anyone know how to past back the pages?....and if not is it bad if it is falling apart? I dont wanna start all over since ive put so much work in it already.

@Mikka what if you completely did away with the binding and just took it to a copy shop to be spiral bound. I bet that is really frustrating for you. Good luck with it!

Thanks for the tip, but my writing is to close to the edge so the binding would go through it. Plus i love my cover. Im starting to glue back the pages, some stick again now, some need more glue!! Hopefully ill get it in one peace again :-) luckely we still have alot of time left for it :-)

Depending on the size of your pages, maybe you can buy cheap photo album of similar size, alter it, and slide the pages in??? I dunno...

Like I said, ive already started a new journal. Making my own journal from scratch. Its like 3/4 th done :-) Cant wait to finish and send it!!
